Minister Işıkhan: We are considering finalizing the minimum wage issue next week.

The third meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, which is working to determine the minimum wage that will be valid in 2025, will be held on Thursday, December 19.

STATEMENT FROM IŞIKHAN BEFORE THE MEETING

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan made statements before the 3rd meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission.

Emphasizing that they are expecting proposals from both the worker and employer sides, Minister Işıkhan stated that they aim to conclude the process within the next week.

WHAT HAPPENED?

As part of the efforts to determine the minimum wage figure that will be valid in the new year, the first meeting was held on December 10, hosted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. In the commission, which convened under the chairmanship of Minister Işıkhan, the worker side was represented by TÜRK-İŞ, while the employer side was represented by the Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TİSK).

As part of the discussions, the second meeting was again held yesterday under the auspices of the Ministry; in this closed meeting, representatives from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the Ministry of Trade, and the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) made presentations regarding economic data.
