Murat Kurum and Ekrem İmamoğlu, who competed for Istanbul in the elections on March 31, 2024, met. The details of the meeting between the two names became a matter of curiosity. Minister Kurum stated, "We exchanged views on urban transformation within the scope of Istanbul's earthquake preparedness and the preservation of Istanbul and the natural richness of the Bosphorus."

The Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, and the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Ekrem İmamoğlu, met after the local elections on March 31. It is reported that the main agenda of the meeting was Istanbul.

We discussed urban transformation for the earthquake preparedness of our highly valued Istanbul, as well as the preservation of Istanbul and the Bosphorus' natural richness. Our consultations with local governments will continue," he said.
