Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu, in his statement in Burdur, said that they will establish safe nurseries serving 24 hours in all hospitals, especially large hospitals, and will start 7 of them this year. Additionally, he stated that the hospital in Burdur will be converted to the status of a Training and Research Hospital and that the Eşeler State Hospital project is nearing completion.
Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu said, "We will enter a restructuring process regarding nurseries and kindergartens, especially in our major hospitals, and we will establish nurseries that will provide 24-hour childcare services and where they can leave their children safely. We are starting on 7 of these this year, God willing."
Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu, who came to Burdur for a series of visits and contacts, made his first stop in the city at the Burdur Governorship. Minister Memişoğlu was welcomed here by Burdur Governor Tülay Baydar Bilgihan and the provincial protocol. After signing the Governorship Honor Book, Memişoğlu attended the Provincial Evaluation Meeting.
78TH STOP WAS BURDUR
Speaking to the press after the meeting, Minister Memişoğlu said, "Today, within the framework of the Healthy Turkey Century, we are touring Turkey and making evaluations. Today we came to Burdur, our 78th province. Here, together with our governor and parliamentarians, we will make evaluations regarding health. We will consult on what we can do to provide better health services, what we have done, and as a result of our evaluations, we will hopefully formulate a policy that can offer much better health services in Burdur.
"WILL GAIN THE STATUS OF A TRAINING AND RESEARCH HOSPITAL"
Burdur is truly one of the most beautiful cities of Anatolia, the land of the Yörüks. As you know, we built a very nice hospital here by the end of 2023. Currently, that hospital is in the position of a state hospital, but a medical faculty has been established in Burdur, and there is great excitement in this medical faculty. Along with that, we will convert this hospital to the status of a Training and Research Hospital and work together with the medical faculty, and we will make a health plan so that no patient from Burdur will need to receive health services elsewhere. Therefore, in this regard, especially with the hospital, we will re-evaluate our main building, which we call the glass building in the center, and hopefully continue to use it for health services.
"A 50-BED HOSPITAL WILL BE PUT INTO SERVICE"
In addition, as you know, our project studies regarding the Eşeler State Hospital have reached the final stage. We will have completed the project within a few months. Later, we will hopefully serve our nation there with a 50-bed hospital. But first, I would like to state that Burdur has the infrastructure and manpower to manage and sustain health services in the best way. We will reshape that as well and ensure that our people in Burdur, I especially say this, receive services here with very good physicians and healthcare."
GOOD NEWS OF "NURSERY" FOR HEALTHCARE MOTHERS
Stating that they strive for a healthy society, Minister Memişoğlu said, "Also, regarding health, our healthcare workers now exceed 1.5 million. These colleagues work day and night to provide healing to our people. We are also entering a restructuring process on this matter. Now, especially in our hospitals, we will enter a restructuring process regarding nurseries and kindergartens, primarily in our major hospitals, and we will establish nurseries that will provide 24-hour nursery services and where they can leave their children safely.
"WE ARE STARTING ON 7 OF THEM THIS YEAR"
We are starting on 7 of these this year, God willing. Because over 60 percent of our employees are female. We will provide services for their children with them, safely in that hospital. I especially want to state this as well. I said it yesterday and I say it again today. As the Ministry of Health, our name is the Ministry of Health. Therefore, for society to stay healthy, we expect people to stay away from bad habits and to eat properly and healthily. If society is healthy, Turkey will be healthy. We will realize the goals of our President, which we call a Healthy Turkey Century," he said.
