Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu made statements regarding the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Istanbul, saying, "236 of our citizens were affected by the earthquake. Their conditions are all good, and many of them received outpatient treatment."
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum, and Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu made statements regarding the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred off the coast of Silivri, Istanbul.
HEALTH MINISTER MEMİŞOĞLU: 236 OF OUR CITIZENS WERE INJURED
Minister Memişoğlu stated that 236 people were affected by the earthquake due to reasons such as falling, jumping, and panic attacks. Memişoğlu also added that the health conditions of all injured citizens are good.
"THANK GOD, WE DID NOT HAVE ANY PRIMARY INJURIES DIRECTLY AFFECTED BY THE EARTHQUAKE"
Memişoğlu used the following expressions: "I wish a speedy recovery to Turkey and our citizens in Istanbul. As the Health Minister, we arrived in Istanbul following the instructions of our President after the earthquake that occurred in Istanbul. Thank God, we did not have any primary injuries directly affected by the earthquake. Secondarily, a total of 236 of our citizens experienced panic attacks due to fear, falling, jumping, or destruction. 173 from Istanbul, 24 from Tekirdağ, 2 from Sakarya, and 3 of our citizens from Yalova and Bursa were affected. All of their conditions are good, and many received outpatient treatment. In the initial assessment, we did not detect any situation that would disrupt services in any of our hospitals in Istanbul and the surrounding provinces."
