The calculations for the minimum wage increase in 2025 have accelerated. The minimum wage increase rate for the New Year 2025 is on the agenda as the countdown to January continues. Calculations for the new and clear minimum wage increase for January 2025 have intensified. The question of how much the minimum wage will be and the calculations for the increase are closely followed by citizens as we move into 2025.

"EVERYONE WILL REACH A CONSENSUS"

The answer to the question of how much the new net and gross minimum wage will be is eagerly awaited by millions of workers. The minimum wage determination commission, consisting of representatives from workers, employers, and the government, will hold meetings in December. After the meetings, the new gross/net minimum wage increase and amount for 2025 will also be announced. The Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, who is the focus of attention on this issue, made a statement regarding the matter. Işıkhan stated, "We hope to reach a consensus on an amount that everyone agrees on."

Speaking at the discussions of the 2025 budget of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in the TBMM Planning and Budget Commission, Işıkhan said: "In the previous period, we raised the net minimum wage to 17,002 lira in the Minimum Wage Determination Commission. Thus, we have increased the minimum wage, which was 184 lira in 2002, by 254% in real terms. In December, our commission will meet again to determine the minimum wage to be applied in 2025. We hope to reach a consensus on an amount that everyone agrees on."

We have increased the Minimum Wage Support, which we started in 2016, to 700 lira per month for 2024. In the first eight months of 2024, we provided a total of 34 billion lira in minimum wage support to approximately 1.5 million workplaces. At the beginning of the year, we will continue our efforts to improve pension salaries in line with our budget, taking into account the actuarial balance of our social security system.

NO INTERIM INCREASE HAS BEEN MADE TO THE MINIMUM WAGE

The minimum wage rate for 2024 was set at 17,002 lira. Additionally, no interim increase was made to the minimum wage in July. 8 million people are already focused on the announcements regarding the increased (gross/net) minimum wage for 2025.
