Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that with the completion of the Ankara-Kırıkkale-Çorum-Samsun High-Speed Train Line, travel time between Ankara and Samsun will decrease to 2.5 hours. Stating that progress on the Delice-Çorum section has exceeded 25 percent, Uraloğlu said that with the project's completion, Çorum will be connected to the railway network for the first time, and it is aimed to carry 12 million passengers annually.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu announced that work on the Ankara-Kırıkkale-Çorum-Samsun High-Speed Train Line continues rapidly.
Minister Uraloglu stated that overall progress on the Delice-Çorum section of the line has exceeded 25 percent, adding that the Çorum-Merzifon and Merzifon-Havza sections have also been tendered, and work will begin after site handover.
3,000 PERSONNEL WORKING
Uraloglu noted that approximately 3,000 personnel and 850 machines are working on the 120-kilometer Delice-Çorum part of the new high-speed train line, which is 293 kilometers in total, and said that over 88 percent progress has been achieved in excavation work.
Uraloglu reported that work continues on 8 tunnels and 31 bridges on the line, and intensive work is also being carried out on underpasses, overpasses, and culverts.
ÇORUM-ANKARA WILL BE 1 HOUR 20 MINUTES
When the line, planned for a speed of 200 kilometers per hour, is completed, uninterrupted high-speed train connections will be established between Ankara, Kırıkkale, and Çorum.
With the project's implementation, travel time between Çorum and Ankara will decrease to 1 hour and 20 minutes.
ANKARA-SAMSUN WILL DECREASE TO 2.5 HOURS
After the completion of the Çorum-Merzifon-Samsun stages, travel time between Ankara and Samsun by high-speed train will decrease to 2.5 hours.
Within the scope of the project, which aims to transport 12 million passengers and 14 million tons of freight annually, Çorum will be connected to the railway network for the first time.
A LOGISTICS CORRIDOR WILL BE FORMED
With the completion of the project, it is aimed to create a strong logistics corridor between the Black Sea, Central Anatolia, and the Mediterranean. Additionally, the railway line connecting Samsun Port and Mersin Port is expected to contribute to reducing cargo traffic in the straits.
