Due to the tension between Iran and Israel, efforts have been initiated for the return of Turkish passenger planes remaining in Iran to their homeland. In a statement regarding the issue, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu noted that special flight permits have been obtained for bringing the planes to Turkey and that the process is progressing in a controlled manner.
Minister Uraloğlu stated that special permits have been obtained as a result of the contacts carried out with the Iranian counterparts of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, saying, "We are bringing our planes that remained in Iran back to Turkey due to the Iran-Israel conflicts. As a result of the meetings held by our General Directorate of Civil Aviation with their Iranian counterparts, special flight permits have been obtained, and the planes carrying our teams have departed for Iran this morning. One of our planes belonging to Turkish Airlines has reached Shiraz, and two planes belonging to Pegasus have arrived in Tehran and Shiraz," he said.
"WE ARE MONITORING DEVELOPMENTS"
Uraloğlu also noted that the process of returning the planes will begin after the completion of security and technical checks. Uraloğlu stated, "After the necessary maintenance work is completed, the plane belonging to Turkish Airlines in Shiraz and 4 planes belonging to Pegasus Airlines in Tehran and Shiraz will return to our country. We have been closely monitoring developments from the first day for the safety of our teams and our planes in the region. We are also continuing our communication with Iranian officials to ensure that the process is completed in a healthy manner," he explained.
