W.A.L., wanted by the Netherlands via a red notice for 'money laundering from criminal proceeds,' was caught in an operation in Pendik, Istanbul. It was determined that the suspect, together with his brother who is the leader of an international criminal organization, engaged in cocaine trafficking and acquired assets with criminal proceeds. The operation was carried out through a joint effort by the Istanbul Police Department, the Intelligence Branch, and MIT.
W.A.L. was arrested in Pendik as part of joint operations conducted by the Istanbul Police Department's Anti-Narcotics Branch, the Intelligence Branch, and MIT, upon a Red Notice issued by Dutch authorities for the crime of 'laundering proceeds from crime.'
HE WAS FOUND TO HAVE ENGAGED IN COCAINE TRAFFICKING WITH HIS BROTHER
It was determined that the suspect, captured in an operation on May 16, has a brother who is the leader of an international criminal organization, J.L., and that he engaged in cocaine trafficking with his brother, acquiring various assets with the proceeds from this crime. The suspect's processing is ongoing.
