A new chapter has been added to the hygiene debates in food production in India. Inspections of sweet production facilities found conditions violating hygiene rules, as well as expired and mislabeled products. Additionally, workers were seen working barefoot and without gloves. Following the inspections, 6 production facilities were temporarily closed.
A new inspection has been carried out regarding nauseating food production conditions in India. Food safety teams inspecting sweet production facilities in the country detected various violations and seized a large number of products.
INSPECTION OF SWEET PRODUCTION FACILITIES
Indian food safety officials have launched a comprehensive inspection of sweet production facilities operating across the country. During the inspections, the hygiene conditions of the production areas were checked, while the materials used and the labels of food products were also scrutinized. In addition to conditions not complying with hygiene rules, expired and mislabeled food products were detected during the inspections. On the other hand, it was reflected on cameras that personnel were working barefoot and not paying any attention to hygiene.
6 PRODUCTION FACILITIES TEMPORARILY CLOSED
Following the inspections, proceedings were initiated against businesses where conditions contrary to the legislation were detected. Due to unhygienic production conditions and other food safety violations, 6 sweet production facilities were temporarily closed. According to the news reported in India Today, samples were also taken from the products examined during the inspections. The collected samples were sent to the laboratory for detailed analysis.
