With only a few days left until the Eid al-Adha, Salim Asıl, who sells cattle both domestically and internationally in the city, has put his bull named 'Poyraz', which weighs approximately 1.5 tons, up for sale.
Asıl, who made the first export of breeding animals from Kayseri to Iraq in 2020 and was the company that carried out the most breeding exports during that period, is asking for 550,000 TL for his Simmental Fleckvieh breed bull 'Poyraz'. Asıl stated, "I am a member of a family business operating in the cattle farming sector in Kayseri. I am the third generation in this business. My grandfather did this work, my uncles do this work, my father does this work. We are also continuing on this path in the same sector."
"MORE THAN 1.5 TONS"
Describing his work, Asıl said, "Our company, which started its activities in 2006, has made significant contributions to the country's livestock by importing genetically superior breeding animals from European countries. At the same time, it has earned the title of the company that made the first export of breeding animals from Kayseri to Iraq in 2020 and the most breeding animal exports during that period. Today, we will try to promote the Simmental Fleckvieh breed as much as we can with our bull Poyraz, which weighs over 1.5 tons. Our goal is to show and prove how beneficial the Simmental breed is to our country through 'Poyraz'," he expressed.
"LAST SEEN AT 500,000 TL"
Touching on the characteristics of the Simmental breed, Asıl stated, "Simmental is a combined breed. It is both a meat and a dairy breed. It is a breed that has an average yield of 68% in male animals, gaining between 1350 and 1650 grams of meat per day. When we compare it with other breeds, we can easily see the difference of the Simmental breed in both yield and milk productivity. We believe that the Simmental breed will contribute more to our country's livestock. Our work continues in this way. We have currently put Poyraz up for sale. This bull was last seen at 500,000 TL. We are asking for 550,000 TL. Our negotiations were left unfinished at that point. We are hopefully waiting for new buyers and new interested parties. He is 4 years old, weighing over approximately 1.5 tons. We expect about 1 ton of meat to come out," he said.
