- US president signs short-term spending bill to avert government shutdown
US President Joe Biden signed a short-term spending bill to keep the government open for the immediate future ahead of a critical midnight deadline when funding for federal agencies was set to run out.
"I just signed a law to keep the government open for 47 days. There's plenty of time to pass Government funding bills for the next fiscal year, and I strongly urge Congress to get to work right away. The American people expect their government to work. Let's make sure it does," Biden wrote on X and shared a picture of the signing.
The move came after the US Senate signed off on the bill earlier Saturday evening and sent the measure to Biden's desk to be signed into law.
- US reiterates 'firm commitment' to security of diplomats after Armenian groups harass Turkish officials
The US State Department said it will continue to take "appropriate steps" to protect the safety and security of diplomats after Armenian protestors disrupted a Turkish conference in the American state of California, which was attended by the Turkish ambassador and diplomats.
In response to Anadolu's questions in an email, a State Department spokesperson said, "We are working with LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) to look into this matter," but added that they have no further information to provide.
- Türkiye concerned about radical diaspora groups using hate speech to incite violent acts
Following an incident of physical and verbal harassment in the US, Türkiye raised concerns about radical diaspora groups using hate speech to incite violence against Türkiye, Azerbaijan, the Armenian government, and regional peace.
"It is worrying that the hate language of radical diaspora groups, which target our country and Azerbaijan, and more recently the Armenian government and the peace process in the region, has turned into violent acts. We will initiate the necessary legal process against those who physically attack our delegation," said the Foreign Ministry.

A new statement has come from K.K., the tourism businessman father of 13-year-old A.E.K., who lived in the Milas district of Muğla and passed away from AIDS on November 11 while receiving treatment in Izmir. The grieving father said, "I learned that I was HIV positive while giving blood. I have no information on how it was transmitted to my son. As a father, I was very careful.
