A large-scale mobilization has been launched from the air and land against the forest fires that started simultaneously in the Kavaklıdere, Milas, and Ortaca districts of Muğla. FLAMES ROSE SIMULTANEOUSLY AT THREE POINTS
Muğla was shaken by forest fires that broke out for undetermined reasons in three different districts. The first fire report came from Kurucova Neighborhood in Kavaklıdere district. While teams were intervening in the flames there, smoke began to rise from the Milas and Ortaca districts around 5:00 PM.
ADVANCING TOWARD FORESTED AREA WITH THE EFFECT OF WIND
The fire that started in the Kazıklı-Bozbük area of Gürçamlar Neighborhood in Milas district rapidly grew with increasing wind intensity and advanced deep into the forested area. Simultaneously, flames rose in the forested area of the Gölbaşı location in Ortaca district.
INTENSE MOBILIZATION FROM AIR AND LAND
Following successive reports, numerous firefighting teams coordinated by the Muğla Regional Directorate of Forestry and General Directorate of Forestry (OGM) were quickly dispatched to the regions. In order to prevent the fires from growing further and to protect residential areas, continuous interventions are being carried out both from the land with water tankers and construction machinery, and from the air with helicopters and aircraft.
