The Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, announced the toll of the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred recently in Sındırgı, Balıkesir. In his statement, Kurum said, "We have determined that 615 independent units, including 506 residential units, in 426 buildings are severely damaged or collapsed."

The 6.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir was felt in many cities. One person lost their life in the earthquake, while 29 others were injured.
16 BUILDINGS COLLAPSED
Additionally, 16 buildings, including 12 abandoned ones, collapsed due to the earthquake. Many citizens spent the night on the streets due to the earthquake.
MURAT KURUM REVEALED THE BALANCE SHEET
On the other hand, investigations related to the earthquake are ongoing. Most recently, the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, announced the balance sheet of the earthquake.
Kurum stated in a post on his social media account, "We have determined that 506 out of 426 buildings, including 615 independent sections, are heavily damaged or collapsed."
Kurum used the following expressions: "So far, we have examined a total of 23,165 independent sections in 14,875 buildings. We have determined that 506 out of 426 buildings, including 615 independent sections, are heavily damaged or collapsed."
