A fugitive convict sought in connection with a murder committed in İzmir in 2005 was captured through the work of police teams. It was learned that Ercan Özkoç had a finalized prison sentence of 16 years and 8 months for stabbing and killing Şükrü Dikil after an argument. The convict, who had been on the run for 21 years, was sent to prison following processing.
In the Beydağ district of İzmir, fugitive convict Ercan Özkoç, who had a finalized prison sentence for a murder committed in 2005, was captured 21 years later in an operation by police teams. It was learned that Özkoç, who was wanted for “intentional killing,” also had numerous criminal records.
HE WAS CAUGHT IN AKTEPE NEIGHBORHOOD
As part of the investigations carried out by the District Police Department teams, it was determined that Ercan Özkoç, who had a finalized prison sentence of 16 years and 8 months, was in the Aktepe Neighborhood of Beydağ.
Özkoç, who was taken into custody in the organized operation, was brought to the police station.
NUMEROUS CRIMINAL RECORDS FOUND
During the interrogation conducted by police teams, it was established that Özkoç had records for “violation of forest law,” “resistance to prevent duty,” “threat,” “insult,” and “theft.”
SUSPECT OF THE 2005 MURDER
It was learned that Ercan Özkoç stabbed and killed Şükrü Dikil during an argument in the Çomaklar Neighborhood of Beydağ district in 2005.
After completing his procedures at the police station, Özkoç was handed over to the prison.
