The murky water flowing from taps in many districts of Istanbul has caused a reaction among citizens. In response to the complaints, the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ) made a statement. The statement indicated that discharge works are ongoing to resolve the issue reported on the Çamlıca-Salacak line.

Some citizens living in the Üsküdar, Bakırköy, Bağcılar, Bahçelievler, and Güngören districts of Istanbul shared posts on social media stating that dirty water was flowing from their taps. They shared images of the dirty water coming from the taps in their kitchens and bathrooms.

"THERE IS NO SITUATION THAT WILL AFFECT HUMAN HEALTH"

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) and the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (ISKI) made a statement regarding the posts.

In the statement, it was noted that due to a malfunction that occurred in the Bosphorus crossing system on the Çamlıca - Salacak line early in the morning, changes were made in our distribution system by maneuvering in the Bosphorus crossing line and the branches connected to this supply line.

It was stated in the explanation that complaints about the color of the water were received due to changes in flow in the lines where maneuvers were made, and it was emphasized that "Although there is no situation that will adversely affect human health due to the change in the color of the water, necessary discharge works are being carried out in the field by our relevant units, and the problem will be resolved as soon as possible."
