Bursa Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, who was detained on March 31 as part of a bribery investigation and arrested today, has been suspended from duty. The decision was shared on the social media account of the Ministry of Interior.

The Ministry of Interior announced that Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey has been temporarily suspended from duty.

"AS A TEMPORARY MEASURE" 

In a statement made from the Ministry's social account, the following was noted:

"Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey has been suspended from duty by the Ministry of Interior as a temporary measure in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the Municipal Law No. 5393, following his arrest on charges of 'establishing and managing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime and receiving bribes' based on the inquiry decision dated April 4, 2026, and numbered 2026/294 of the Bursa 6th Peace Criminal Court."
