Mutlu Özcan, who was severely injured after being caught in the flames while trying to save his animals in the forest fire that broke out on July 30 in the Çine district of Aydın, lost his 20-day battle for life. While 3,000 hectares of area were damaged in the fire, S.K., who allegedly caused the fire, was arrested.
Mutlu Özcan (35), who was injured while trying to save his animals and was caught in the flames during a forest fire that broke out in the Çine district of Aydın on July 30, lost his life struggle after 20 days at the hospital where he was being treated.
HE HAD BEEN FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE FOR 20 DAYS
The forest fire that broke out around 15:00 on July 30 at Kavşit Plateau in Çine spread to Mutaflar Neighborhood. During the fire, which spread rapidly under the influence of the wind, Mutlu Özcan, who was married and a father of one, wanted to save his animals and was seriously injured after being caught in the flames. After his initial intervention, Özcan was transferred to İzmir City Hospital and taken under treatment there. Özcan, who had been fighting for his life for about 20 days, died despite all the doctors' interventions. It was learned that Özcan's body would be buried in his hometown of Çine after the necessary procedures.
1 PERSON HAD BEEN ARRESTED ON SUSPICION OF CAUSING THE FIRE
In the forest fire, which was brought under control 4 days later in the region, 3 thousand hectares of area were damaged. In the investigation carried out on the subject, S.K. (53), who was alleged to have caused the fire, had been arrested.
