A naked tourist in Ibiza was seriously injured after falling from the 7th floor. The Colombian man, fighting for his life in the hospital, is in critical condition.
In one of Ibiza's famous entertainment centers, the horrifying moments when a naked tourist fell approximately 30 meters (100 feet) from a 7th-floor balcony were captured on camera. The 29-year-old Colombian national, living in Mallorca, is reported to be fighting for his life in the hospital in critical condition.
The terrifying incident reportedly occurred at the Tanit building in the popular entertainment district of San Antonio, where the man had gone to visit friends. The naked tourist struck balconies on lower floors as he fell, causing panic and screams among holidaymakers in nearby buildings.
In the chilling footage, the man is seen clinging dangerously to the glass balcony railings, hanging on the edge and trying to pull himself up to safety. However, after several desperate attempts to climb back up, his legs suddenly slip, leaving him suspended in the air.
A few seconds later, with no strength left to hold on, the man plunges seven stories down onto the concrete ground. A witness recounted that chaos erupted within seconds as the man hit the balconies of lower floors before crashing to the ground. Another man nearby reportedly made a last-ditch effort to rush forward and save him but was just a few seconds too late.
Doctors reported that the severely injured man suffered fractures in his pelvis, chest trauma, and serious brain damage. The tourist was immediately taken into surgery and is being treated in intensive care, with his condition described as "extremely serious."
The Civil Guard has launched a broad investigation and is reviewing security camera footage from the building, which captures the moments just before the man fell while hanging. This incident has sent shockwaves through the entertainment center, which has previously been associated with balcony tragedies.
Just a day earlier, a 19-year-old American tourist fell about 12 meters from a cliff in the Santa Eulària area, hitting his head on a rock and being hospitalized in intensive care with multiple fractures. Strikingly, a similar tragedy occurred in 2017 at the same Tanit building in San Antonio where the Colombian man fell.
26-year-old British tourist Callum Marriott died after falling from a balcony in the same building on his last night on the party island. The investigation revealed that the British tourist had forgotten his room key and fell while trying to climb to his 4th-floor apartment via the balcony. These consecutive falls in entertainment centers have reignited debates about balcony safety in Ibiza.
Authorities have sternly warned tourists once again about the deadly consequences of risky behaviors such as excessive alcohol consumption, drug use, and sitting on or climbing over balcony railings.
