COMMEMORATED AT HER GRAVE
Representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations, along with many citizens, attended the commemoration program held in Tavşantepe District, affiliated with the Bağlar district. During the program, a recitation from the Quran, prayers, and religious hymns were read, and carnations were placed on Narin's grave.
After the commemoration, the family and participants walked from Narin's grave to the area where the little girl was last seen before she went missing.
FATHER GÜRAN: "THEY BURIED US ALIVE"
Speaking at the commemoration, father Arif Güran stated that the pain his family experienced is indescribable and demanded justice.
Güran said, "Today is a catastrophe for us. They made us experience the apocalypse. They buried us alive."
Güran also spoke about Nevzat Bahtiyar, whom he holds responsible for his daughter's death, arguing that the investigation and trial process has turned into a great devastation for the family.
"Don't get us out of prison. Get my daughter's rights. My daughter's blood is on the ground," said Güran, demanding that Narin's death be fully clarified.
GERGERLİOĞLU: "A RETRIAL SHOULD BE HELD"
Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu, a DEM Party deputy from Kocaeli, who spoke at the commemoration program, also criticized the trial process in the Narin Güran case.
Gergerlioğlu argued that the legal process in the case should be re-evaluated and called for a retrial. Gergerlioğlu stated that the case should be conducted based on evidence and law, not through public pressure or media-driven debates.

AGGRAVATED LIFE SENTENCES FOR MOTHER, BROTHER, AND UNCLE
In the Narin Güran murder case, mother Yüksel Güran, brother Enes Güran, and uncle Salim Güran were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for "intentional killing of a child in complicity."
The 1st Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation upheld the aggravated life imprisonment decisions for the three defendants.
NEVZAT BAHTİYAR'S SENTENCE RAISED TO 17 YEARS
Nevzat Bahtiyar, who was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison in the first trial for "destroying, concealing, or altering evidence of a crime" for carrying Narin's lifeless body to the stream, had his file overturned by the Court of Cassation.
In the retrial, Bahtiyar was sentenced to 17 years in prison for "aiding qualified intentional killing." In the court's reasoned decision, it was stated that it was concluded that Bahtiyar had helped in the killing of Narin.
As two years have passed since Narin's death, the family's demand for justice and discussions about the legal process have come to the fore again.
