WHAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED TO PROTECT AGAINST TICKS?
To protect against tick bites, it is important to wear long-sleeved clothing during nature walks, tuck pant legs into socks, and prefer light-colored clothing. After being in grassy and wooded areas, the body should be carefully checked, especially areas such as behind the ears, armpits, and behind the knees. If a tick is noticed, it should not be touched with bare hands, and a healthcare facility should be consulted; because incorrect removal methods can increase the risk of disease. It should be remembered that ticks can carry serious diseases, especially Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever.
