Following the attacks on Iran initiated by Israel and the United States, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made his first statement after a situation assessment meeting with security officials in a shelter. Netanyahu stated that the attacks were named "Operation Lion's Roar."
After Israel and the US launched an attack on Iran this morning, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that "the purpose of the operation is to eliminate the existential threat."
According to the AFP news agency, Netanyahu noted that it is time for the Iranians to break the "chain of bullying," while also calling on Israelis to "come together to ensure the eternity of their country."
NAME OF THE OPERATION: ROAR OF THE LION
Netanyahu claimed that the US-Israel attacks would give the Iranian people the opportunity to determine their own fate, stating that the attacks are named "Operation Roar of the Lion."
Netanyahu asserted that the US-Israel joint attack would "create the necessary conditions for the brave Iranian people to take their fate into their own hands."
Using the words, "It is time for all segments of the Iranian people - Persians, Kurds, Azerbaijanis, Baluchis, and Ahvazis - to break free from the yoke of oppression and realize a free and peaceful Iran," Netanyahu sent a message for regime change in the country.
Netanyahu said that the US and Israel have launched an operation to eliminate the "existential threat" against Iran.
MEETING WITH SECURITY OFFICIALS IN A SHELTER
Meanwhile, the Yediot Ahronot newspaper reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a meeting with security officials in a shelter.
According to Anadolu Agency, it was reported that the meeting addressed the attacks launched by the US and Israel against Iran.
STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED ACROSS ISRAEL
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz announced that they have launched a "preventive attack" against Iran, stating that "a state of emergency has been declared nationwide."
Katz urged citizens to comply with the instructions of the Home Front Command and to stay in protected areas.
US President Donald Trump also stated in his remarks regarding the attacks, "We have launched a major operation against Iran."
