Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made striking statements about President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who frequently harshly criticizes him and his government over the massacres in Gaza. Admitting his fear of Erdogan and Turkey, Netanyahu said they would convey this issue to the US.
NETANYAHU: WE TAKE ERDOGAN'S WORDS SERIOUSLY
Netanyahu stated: "There is not a single day that passes without Erdogan calling for the destruction of Israel. We take these words very seriously, because if there is one thing we have learned from the history of our people, it is that when someone says they intend to destroy you, you must take them seriously.
We take these statements seriously and will bring them to the attention of our American friends. We are not ignoring them."
ERDOGAN: GAZA WILL DEFINITELY BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE
Meanwhile, President Erdogan attended the closing program of the AK Party's 33rd Consultation and Evaluation Meeting held in Sapanca district of Sakarya. Stating that the massacre in Gaza will be held accountable, Erdogan said: "Gaza will definitely be held accountable; we cannot neglect this. God willing, this cadre will hold the perpetrators of this genocide accountable. My brothers, I say this sincerely, your burden is very heavy. You are the hope of Gaza and Damascus. Let those who are tired step aside. Let those who do not step aside come to the field. Our movement is built on affection."
"NETANYAHU'S ATTACKS HAVE REACHED A POINT THAT THREATENS TURKEY AS WELL"
Additionally, during his party's group meeting weeks ago, Erdogan, who harshly criticized Israel, said: "Israel attacked Iran simultaneously; not stopping there, it began occupying Lebanon. Israel refuses to withdraw from Lebanon and continues its bloody operations. The number of those killed in Lebanon has reached 3,700. Israel has simultaneously engaged in a insidious effort to destabilize African countries and the Mediterranean. The attacks by Netanyahu and his murder network against Syria and Lebanon have now reached a point that threatens Turkey as well. Syria and Lebanon are two independent states, but these two states are also part of Turkey's geography of love and brotherhood."
