Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that the allegation of Israeli soldiers raping a Palestinian prisoner in the Sde Teiman military prison is a "horrific slander." Netanyahu stated that former Military Advocate General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, who was placed under house arrest on charges of leaking rape footage to the press, has provided material to Israel's enemies.
In a session held in the Israeli Parliament, Netanyahu stated that the leak of images showing the rape of a Palestinian prisoner has led to Israeli soldiers being compared to Nazis. Netanyahu noted that the "fabricated" rape images have been viewed more than 100 million times worldwide.
"GAVE MATERIAL TO ISRAEL'S ENEMIES"
Netanyahu, who claimed that former Military Prosecutor Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, who was placed under house arrest on charges of leaking the rape images, provided material to Israel's enemies, also reported that they received reactions from the international community regarding the establishment of concentration camps.
"WE WILL CONTINUE TO ATTACK DESPITE CEASEFIRES"
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu stated in his address to the Knesset that they will continue to attack despite the ceasefires reached for the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. Netanyahu claimed that they would implement the ceasefire with an "iron fist" through attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, asserting that the "war" for Israel has not ended and that they will completely disarm Hamas and Gaza, whether easily or with difficulty.
The Israeli administration has been continuing attempts to break the fragile ceasefire in Gaza since it came into effect on October 10. According to data from the Ministry of Health in Gaza, 241 Palestinians have been killed and 619 injured in attacks carried out by Israel since October 10. Israel continues airstrikes on the southern and eastern regions of the country, violating the ceasefire agreement reached with Lebanon on November 27, 2024.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Israel's Channel 12 television had broadcast images showing soldiers surrounding a Palestinian prisoner while committing sexual torture and trying to hide from the cameras in the detention center. An investigation has been launched against the soldiers for crimes such as "torture, perversion, and attempted bodily harm," and it was reported that 9 soldiers have been detained.
In response to these reports, an extreme right-wing group held a demonstration in July 2024 in front of the detention center. While the suspected soldiers were to be detained, extreme right-wing individuals, including members of parliament, stormed the Sde Teiman military base. No penalties have yet been announced for the Israeli soldiers on trial.
