It was claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu told US President Trump that the US-Iran agreement's Lebanon clauses are not binding for Tel Aviv and that they will continue attacks. Following these claims, Israeli Defense Minister Katz stated in a statement that despite the agreement reached between the US and Iran, the Israeli army will not withdraw from the areas it occupies in southern Lebanon.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly told US President Donald Trump that the provisions of the US-Iran agreement regarding Lebanon are not binding on the Tel Aviv administration and that they will continue their attacks.
"ISRAELI ARMY WILL NOT WITHDRAW"
In a report by the Yedioth Ahronot newspaper, citing unnamed Israeli officials, details of the phone call between Netanyahu and Trump regarding the US-Iran agreement were disclosed. The report stated that Netanyahu conveyed to Trump that the Israeli army would not withdraw from the occupied areas in Lebanon and would continue its attacks.
Israeli officials speaking to the newspaper indicated that if the Washington administration, following the agreement with Iran, demands Israel's withdrawal from Lebanon or a limitation of its attacks, Israel might have to face US pressure.
CABINET SUPPORTS NETANYAHU
Meanwhile, it was reported that during yesterday's Israeli security cabinet meeting, the vast majority of ministers expressed full support for Netanyahu's stance on Lebanon.
KATZ: WE WILL NOT WITHDRAW FROM OCCUPIED AREAS
Furthermore, Israeli Defense Minister Katz stated that despite the agreement reached between the US and Iran, the Israeli army will not withdraw from the occupied areas in southern Lebanon.
AGREEMENT STATED MILITARY OPERATIONS WOULD END
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had announced that the US and Iran reached an agreement, stating, "It declared an immediate and permanent end to military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon."
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi confirmed that an agreement was reached with the US and announced that the memorandum of understanding would be signed in Switzerland on June 19.
