Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed during a hearing in a lawsuit he filed against Israeli journalists Uri Misgav and Ben Caspit that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer at the end of 2025 but that his health condition is now good.
According to a report by Israel's Channel 14 television, Netanyahu stated in the hearing: \"My health condition is normal, even excellent according to some. As reported on April 24, I did not have pancreatic cancer. If I had, I would not be here today.\"
\"THANKFULLY, THIS PROBLEM IS BEHIND US\"
The hearing of the lawsuit filed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against lawyer-activist Gonen Ben Yitzhak and Israeli journalists Uri Misgav and Ben Caspit, who claimed he had pancreatic cancer, was held today at the Tel Aviv District Court.
Netanyahu, stating that his health is normal, even excellent according to some, and that he never had pancreatic cancer but was diagnosed with a tumor in his prostate at the end of 2025, said: \"I had a minor health issue with my prostate, and it was completely treated. Thankfully, this problem is behind us.\"
HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING HEALTH ISSUES FOR A LONG TIME
Judge Menachem Mizrahi had requested last week that Netanyahu's current medical records and reports on when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer be submitted to the court.
Netanyahu first publicly announced in a video released in April 2026 that he was undergoing radiotherapy treatment due to a malignant lesion on his prostate. Netanyahu, 76, who has served as prime minister for the longest period in Israel, has been experiencing a series of health issues in recent years.
