The Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Authority announced that the new regulation allowing individuals with disabilities to benefit from discounted traffic insurance premiums will come into effect on February 1, 2026. Individuals with disabilities registered in the National Disability Data System will be able to benefit from an additional discount of up to 20% on maximum premiums, in addition to the existing discounts for a vehicle they own.
The Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Authority (SEDDK) announced that the new regulation allowing individuals with disabilities to benefit from discounted traffic insurance will come into effect on February 1, 2026.
A 20% DISCOUNT WILL BE APPLIED
According to the statement, individuals with disabilities registered in the National Disability Data System will be able to benefit from discounted traffic insurance for a vehicle they own starting from the specified date. The regulation states that in addition to the existing discounts, an additional discount of up to 20% will be applied to the maximum premiums for traffic insurance for vehicles owned by individuals with disabilities.
The statement noted that the discount rate and amount, which will be identified by the individual's Turkish Identification Number, will be displayed on the front of the traffic insurance policy.
DISCOUNT CONDITIONS
The new application will be valid from February 1, 2026, and will include the following details:
- Registration Requirement: Individuals with disabilities wishing to benefit from the discount must be registered in the National Disability Data System.
- Discount Rate: An additional discount of up to 20% will be applied to the maximum premiums for traffic insurance for vehicles owned by individuals with disabilities, in addition to the existing discounts.
- Scope: The discount will be valid for one vehicle owned by individuals with disabilities registered in the National Disability Data System.
