A new era of security against fraud in notary transactions is beginning: QR code requirement is coming. All notary documents, from property transfers to real estate sales, will now be secured with digital verification.

Due to the increasing incidents of fraud involving fake seals and documents in official papers, the Ministry of Justice has taken a new security step. From now on, a QR code will be mandatory on notary documents to enhance the security of these documents against forgery.

END TO FAKE DOCUMENT TRAPS

In recent years, the use of fake notary documents, especially in property and real estate transactions in Turkey, has victimized many citizens. The Ministry of Justice is taking a digital verification step in the notary system to prevent such abuses.

NEW ERA IN PROPERTY TRANSFER

As of July 4, 2023, property transfer transactions that can be conducted through notaries are being reorganized due to the risk of fraud. With the new system, the documents prepared by the buyer and seller in property and land transactions can be verified with a QR code.

WHICH AREAS WILL THE QR CODE OBLIGATION COVER?

The QR code application that will come into effect will not only cover property transactions but will also allow for the inspection of whether any official document issued by notaries is fake. This will be a step that directly increases the security of both individuals and institutions.

DIGITALIZATION IN JUDICIAL SERVICES GAINS MOMENTUM

This innovation announced by Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç is part of a broader digital transformation that will be implemented in UYAP, e-hearing, e-notification, and e-notary applications. The aim is to increase speed, transparency, and security in judicial services.
