Turkey's first National Electric High Speed Train, produced with domestic resources, improved its own speed record by reaching 250 kilometers per hour during ongoing tests. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that tests of the train with a capacity of 577 passengers continue under different speed and operating conditions, and announced that critical systems were developed entirely domestically and nationally with ASELSAN.
An important milestone has been passed in the national high-speed train project. The train, which previously reached a speed of 240 kilometers per hour in tests, has increased its speed to 250 kilometers per hour in the latest trials.
TESTS CONTINUE ON THE ESKISEHIR-POLATLI LINE
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu made a statement regarding the testing processes of Turkey's first National Electric High-Speed Train, produced with domestic resources by Turkey Rail System Vehicles Industry Inc. (TURASAS). Stating that the train has an operating speed of 225 kilometers per hour, Uraloglu reported that dynamic running safety tests began on the Gebze-Eskisehir route, and that work continues between Eskisehir and Polatli.
INCREASED FROM 240 KILOMETERS TO 250 KILOMETERS
The train, which reached a speed of 240 kilometers per hour in previously conducted tests, improved its own record in the latest trials. Uraloglu said, "In this context, our National Electric High-Speed Train has reached a speed of 250 kilometers per hour. The testing work of the National Electric High-Speed Train continues under different speed and operating conditions in line with the determined program." Stating that the train undergoes comprehensive tests in terms of safety, comfort, and performance before being put into operation, Uraloglu said, "We are successfully continuing our tests by reaching a speed of 250 kilometers per hour."
WILL HAVE A CAPACITY OF 577 PASSENGERS
Turkey's first National Electric High-Speed Train consists of 8 vehicles with aluminum bodies and has a total capacity of 577 passengers. The train features an automatic train stop system, electromechanical passenger entry doors, fully automatic air conditioning, a fire alarm system, a camera system, and audio and visual passenger information systems.
CRITICAL SYSTEMS DEVELOPED WITH ASELSAN
Domestic production also stands out in the train's important technologies. Uraloglu announced that the most critical systems, the "Train Control and Management System" and the "Traction System," were designed and produced completely domestically and nationally with ASELSAN. Thus, it was stated that the project covers not only the train's body but also critical technologies in terms of operation and mobility.
