The statement of Ebru Gülan, who was arrested as part of a drug investigation involving celebrities, has emerged. In her statement, Gülan said, "We also played the bottle spinning game with Veyis Ateş. There were offers like 'Take off your bra and come' and 'Spend 3 minutes in the next room with Veyis.'" Ebru Gülan also claimed about journalist Mehmet Akif Ersoy, with whom she had a relationship for a period, "He was recording the relationships that took place in his own house."
Former Habertürk Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Akif Ersoy, along with Ebru Gülan and Mustafa Manaz, was arrested as part of a 'drug' investigation, and Ebru Gülan's statement given on January 20 has emerged.
As part of the 'drug' investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Ebru Gülan's statement given on January 20, 2026, has come to light.
"IT WAS VEYIS WHO BROUGHT THE DRUGS"
Ebru Gülan stated in her testimony, "In 2019, D.Y. and I were at Mehmet's house. I had Mehmet Akif's key. In the evening, Mehmet Akif came home and said, 'Veyis Ateş will come soon and bring kokoreç.' Veyis Ateş came, and I met him there. Not long after, Veyis took out a substance he said was a drug from his pocket. It was the first time I saw drugs in my life. All four of us used drugs there. The next day, I called Akif and told him I didn't want to see Veyis again. That day, Veyis had disturbed me with his actions. I argued with Mehmet Akif because of Veyis's behavior. Later, Mehmet Akif moved to a new site and invited me to his house. Since Veyis had traumatized me, he aimed to bring me together with Veyis during his invitations. In this house, Veyis, I, and Mehmet met, but there were no drugs during these meetings. Then, during the pandemic, Mehmet invited me to his house. In these meetings, there were Veyis, Mehmet, a woman named Büşra, and her cousin. We also used drugs here, and it was Veyis who brought the drugs. There was tension and fighting between us because I didn't know these women and was unaware of their relationship with Mehmet. Because of this, I left the house and went to my own home. After a while, we met again. Veyis had brought drugs again, and we used drugs and spent time together," she said.
"THEY DID NOT ORDER DRUGS FROM OUTSIDE"
Ebru Gülan said, "In June 2020, Mehmet Akif called me again. He said he wanted to reconcile and meet. I went to his house. When I arrived, there were Ahmet Göçmez, Serap S., Yağmur N., Mehmet Akif, and Kaan K. at the house. When I got there, they were already using drugs, and I used them with them. Between October and November 2020, Mehmet Akif invited me again. When I went to his house, there were Ahmet Göçmez, Serap S., Sevkiye, and Dilara Y. When I got there, they were using drugs, and they did not order the substance from outside. After the cocaine was finished, Ahmet Göçmez took out the cocaine he had in his pocket and we continued to use it," she stated.
"TAKE OFF YOUR BRA AND COME"
Gülan continued her statement by saying: "Mehmet Akif had told me that he, Ahmet, and Pınar had bought drugs together and that the three of them had had sexual relations. On March 8, 2019, the three of us went to Mehmet Akif's house with a girl. Later, Mustafa Manaz also came there. We all played spin the bottle in the living room. In the game, we were doing more sexual things like 'take off each other's clothes', 'strip', 'kiss him', 'make out'. We also played this spin the bottle game with Veyis Ateş. There were offers like 'take off your bra and come', 'spend 3 minutes in the other room with Veyis'. Almost all of my close female friends played this game and had relations with him. Even when he wasn't drinking alcohol, he would make offers like 'take 5 shots' or 'drink a glass of whiskey in one go' to the person in front of him during the spin the bottle game.
"HE RECORDED THE RELATIONS HAPPENING IN HIS HOUSE ON VIDEO"
I observed that they systematically made every girl they brought into the environment play spin the bottle first, to gauge their reactions and then proceeded accordingly. They would then offer drugs. When there was a reaction to these events, they would quickly find another woman and do these things with her. This way, they created a competitive environment among women. They made the girls around them feel inadequate and incompatible. They also normalized these events. He would even say, 'Look, we did these things with Pınar and we got married.' He recorded the relationships and events happening in his house on his phone. In fact, when we were first detained, a girl named Buse also mentioned that she had her first sexual relationship with Mehmet and that he manipulated her in this way.
