In the Koyulhisar district of Sivas, 52-year-old Lokman Sönmez, who was being treated in the hospital on suspicion of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) disease due to a tick bite, could not be saved despite all interventions and lost his life.
With the arrival of summer in Sivas, sad news about tick cases continues to come. Lokman Sönmez, a father of three who was engaged in livestock farming in the Çaylı village of the Koyulhisar district, passed away due to Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) disease, which was assessed to have been contracted from a tick bite.
A TICK ATTACHED A WEEK AGO
According to the information obtained, a tick attached to the body of 52-year-old Lokman Sönmez, who was involved in livestock activities in his village, about a week ago. Some time after the tick contact, Sönmez became ill with symptoms such as weakness and high fever, and as his condition worsened, he was quickly taken to Koyulhisar State Hospital by his relatives.
HE LOST HIS LIFE STRUGGLE IN INTENSIVE CARE
After the initial intervention there, the unfortunate man, whose condition remained critical, was referred to Sivas Cumhuriyet University Health Services Application and Research Hospital. Sönmez, who was taken into treatment in the Anesthesia Intensive Care Unit with suspicion of CCHF disease, could not be saved despite all the efforts of the doctors over the days and passed away.
HIS FUNERAL WILL BE BURIED IN HIS VILLAGE
The body of Lokman Sönmez, whose death plunged his family and loved ones into grief, was taken by his relatives after the legal procedures at the hospital were completed. It was learned that Sönmez's funeral will be buried in Çaylı village after a ceremony to be held.
