Social media influencer Nihal Candan, who had been struggling with anorexia nervosa for a long time, passed away after her heart stopped for the second time. Candan, who had dropped to 23 kilograms, was laid to rest in tears at the Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque in Istanbul. During the funeral ceremony, her mother, Umut Candan, cried out in despair, "Why couldn't you make her eat a single bite?"
Social media phenomenon Nihal Candan passed away due to the anorexia nervosa disease she had been struggling with for a long time. Candan, whose heart reportedly stopped for the second time, could not be saved despite all interventions.
Due to health issues, Nihal Candan, who dropped to 23 kilograms, was bid farewell on her final journey today at the funeral held at Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque in Istanbul. Her family, relatives, and loved ones attended the ceremony.
HEART-WRENCHING WORDS FROM A MOTHER
During the funeral, mother Umut Candan, who struggled to stand, cried out in tears. "I struggled, why didn't you hear? My child is gone, what will I do now? How will I live? Why couldn't you feed her a single bite?" she expressed her pain.
Mother Candan also referred to the intensive care process, saying, "I thought she would be taken care of in intensive care, recover, and return to her room. I screamed that my children are innocent, but no one heard. I screamed that she was hungry, but no one heard," sharing her helplessness.
Nihal Candan's sister, Bahar Candan, cried while hugging the coffin for minutes.
Nihal Candan's funeral will be buried at Kilyos Cemetery following the ceremony at Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque.
