The famous theologian Nihat Hatipoğlu answered questions about the houris, which are said to exist in paradise and are a topic of curiosity for all Muslims. Hatipoğlu stated, "My dear, one will not be involved with concubines; that's not how it is. A marriage contract is required, and you act according to that condition. Some things have been taken in a very classical sense, while others have been done to attract attention."
Prof. Dr. Nihat Hatipoğlu, who gained great interest with his broadcasts during the month of Ramadan, meets viewers every evening on ATV screens with iftar and sahur programs. The famous theologian was recently a guest of Saba Tümer and made important statements. Tümer asked questions, especially about the houris that are said to exist in paradise, which sparked great interest. The answers given by Hatipoğlu resonated widely.
ASKED ABOUT THE HOURIS
The host asked, "For example, is this topic of houris that we always hear from scholars in our book, teacher?" The theologian replied, "All these topics are there." When Saba Tümer said, "How is it said? Let's learn the truth of the matter from you," Hatipoğlu responded:
"For example, it is said that there are gardens in paradise; first, why were these words placed in the Quran? Why did God express this? It is said that there are drinks that do not intoxicate, and there are companions who bring joy to the eyes, meaning there are spouses, and in some interpretations, it is expressed as the person's own spouse. When you taste the fruits of paradise that you have never tasted before, each time you eat, a different flavor will come. This is a call to those who have weaknesses in this worldly life; if your concern is drinks, you will find these in that realm. The whole story here is this."
"NOT AS IT IS DESCRIBED"
Upon this, Saba Tümer said, "It's not as it is described," to which Hatipoğlu replied, "No, there is nothing different. Sir, it is not like that you will be with maidens; there is no such thing. A marriage condition has been set, and you act according to that marriage condition. Some things have been taken in a very classical sense, and some things have been done to attract attention."
