The Iraqi central government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) have agreed to the arrangement for the export of Iraqi oil to Turkey via northern Iraq.

The Prime Minister of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government, Mesrur Barzani, announced that they have reached an agreement with the Baghdad administration regarding the export of Iraqi oil to Turkey via northern Iraq.

OIL WILL BE SENT TO TURKEY VIA NORTHERN IRAQ

The Prime Minister of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government, Mesrur Barzani, announced that they have reached an agreement with the Baghdad administration regarding the export of Iraqi oil to Turkey via northern Iraq. Barzani made a statement on the U.S.-based X social media platform regarding the export of Iraqi oil through the KRG to Turkey.

"IT WILL START AS SOON AS POSSIBLE"

Barzani stated, "Considering the extraordinary conditions the country is facing, we have made the decision to allow the export of oil through the Kurdistan Region pipeline as soon as possible to overcome this serious situation, which is our collective responsibility."

Barzani also noted that discussions with Baghdad will continue on other issues, stating, "Our negotiations with Baghdad will continue to urgently lift the restrictions on imports and trade to the region (KRG) and to provide the necessary guarantees for oil and natural gas companies to continue production in a safe environment."

NEGOTIATIONS HAD TURNED INTO A SNAKE STORY

Baghdad had stated that the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government was an obstacle to exporting oil through the Ceyhan Port in Turkey. The Iraqi central government claimed that northern Iraq presented various conditions. Mesrur Barzani, however, stated that there was no obstacle from Baghdad to exporting oil through the Ceyhan Port in Turkey, but the proposed export volume could not compensate for the oil sent by Iraq through other routes.
