Notable statement about the cash ban: We will all be trapped in a cage.

12.09.2024 18:10

A notable statement has been made regarding the process in which cash cannot be used for purchases exceeding 7,000 TL. Mahmut Şahin, the President of the Consumer Union, stated that "we are entering a period where cash will be banned and not used in the Republic of Turkey. We will all be confined to a cage. When your limit is reached, they will not allow you to spend the money in your bank. After this event, hundreds of thousands of people will become unemployed. Everything will be digital and there will be no need for those people."

The Revenue Administration Presidency (RAP) has opened the Draft General Communiqué on Amendment to the Tax Procedure Law General Communiqué for public opinion without disrupting its current HTML. If the regulation comes into effect, final consumers will also be included in the obligation to provide evidence. Those who are subject to the obligation to provide evidence will be required to use banks, PTT or intermediary financial institutions for payments and collections exceeding 7,000 liras. Mahmut Şahin, the President of the Consumers' Union, made important statements regarding the process that caused a wide impact on the public.

"THIS IS THE STARTING POINT OF 7,000 TL"

Mahmut Şahin, the President of the Consumers' Union, stated in his statement regarding the issue, "In purchases exceeding 7,000 TL in sales of goods and services, cash will be invalid and work will be initiated for shopping with a bank or credit card. This is the starting point of 7,000 TL. They will reduce the amount to 5,000 TL first and then to 2,500 TL. Their goal is to eliminate cash usage by 2030. We are already in a process where cash is banned and not used in the Republic of Turkey. We had a statement in front of a chain market where cash had not passed before."

"SOMETHING ELSE IS INTENDED HERE"

Mahmut Şahin said, "After the Revenue Administration Presidency communiqué, we said 'Don't make this mistake'. Apparently, our voice was not heard much. We know what the issue is. We are not convinced by fancy words like 'We will prevent tax evasion and the informal economy'. Something else is intended here. If you haven't been able to prevent tax evasion for years, just leave. If you think that this issue can be solved only by eliminating cash and turning it into bank cards, that is even more strange. There is an expression in the communiqué; 'If a consumer buys a refrigerator and its price is 20,000 TL, they cannot pay it in cash, they will pay it through a card.' The Revenue Administration means that refrigerators are coming illegally, factories are selling them without invoices. Stores can sell it without an invoice," he said.

"WE WILL ALL BE LOCKED IN A CAGE"

Şahin, stating that the fact that there is no other solution other than the elimination of cash is a sign of helplessness, said, "If the authorities and the Revenue Administration Presidency do not hear our voice, the next step will be; citizenship points will be given to everyone with these digital expenses. We will all be locked in a cage. They will not let you spend the money in your bank when your limit is full. The second step is the limitation of carbon footprint. They give an environmentalist image. They expect us to believe that those who have been continuously poisoning our land for 70-80 years, injecting all kinds of drugs. They expect us to believe that they value the air. I'm sorry; you don't care about the air or anything. Your concern is to bring the citizens into line. After this incident, hundreds of thousands of people will be unemployed. Everything will be digital and there will be no need for those people. We saw a system where people would become unemployed three steps before. Don't make this country, the world, the guinea pig of global powers that aim to make the world a cashless, propertyless, and genderless place under a single state roof."
