Iran issued a diplomatic note to NATO member Bulgaria, warning against the use of Bulgarian airports by U.S. military aircraft.

It has been revealed that the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a diplomatic note to NATO member Bulgaria last month, warning that U.S. military aircraft should not use Bulgarian airports.

FOREIGN MINISTRY CONFIRMED: NO WARPLANES ARE BEING DEPLOYED THROUGH BULGARIA

Bulgaria's Deputy Foreign Minister Marin Raykov confirmed at a press conference today that Iran sent a diplomatic note, emphasizing that diplomatic relations with Iran are ongoing. Raykov stated, "Bulgaria is not at war, and no warplanes are being deployed through Bulgaria for military operations. Our parliament has not made any decision to support military actions in the Strait of Hormuz region."

EMPHASIS ON NATO DEPLOYMENT

At the end of February, reports in Bulgarian media indicated that some U.S. military aircraft had landed at Vasil Levski Sofia Airport. Officials explained that the aircraft in question were part of NATO's forward deployment activities.
