The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) is revising the distribution of broadcasting revenues from the Super League. The amount previously given to champion teams, which constituted 11% of the revenue, will be distributed equally among all teams in the league starting from the next season. The "Champions Share" will be distributed for the last time this season, and 6 teams will earn a total of 718 million lira (14 million euros). Anatolian clubs will earn a minimum of 40 million lira more in additional revenue next season.

CHAMPIONS SHARE REMOVED

According to the decision made by the TFF Board of Directors, the "Champions Share," which is one of the criteria for the distribution of broadcasting revenues and was distributed among the 6 teams that have won championships in the past based on the number of championships, will be in effect for the last time this season. In this context, this share, which corresponds to 11% of the broadcasting revenue, will be distributed equally among all teams in the league starting from the next season.

SHARE TO BE DISTRIBUTED EQUALLY TO CLUBS RISES TO 48%

For many years, broadcasting revenues in the Super League have been distributed as follows:

After deducting the TFF and lower league shares from the total revenue;

1- 37% is distributed equally as participation rights (entry fee) to all teams in the league.

2- 46% is distributed based on performance in matches (victories, draws).

3- 11% is distributed among the teams that have won championships in previous seasons based on the number of championships.

4- 6% is distributed among the teams that finish in the top 6 positions in the league based on their rankings.

With the new season, the 11% "Champions Share" will be distributed equally to all clubs, just like the participation rights, and 48% of the broadcasting revenue will be distributed equally among all teams.

CHAMPIONS SHARE TO BE DISTRIBUTED FOR THE LAST TIME THIS SEASON IS 718 MILLION LIRA

The broadcasting fee for the Super League was tendered for 3 seasons at a rate of 180 million dollars, half at a fixed exchange rate and the other half in dollars, in 2024. Accordingly, as of March this season, the "Champions Share" is approximately 718 million lira (14 million euros). This amount will be distributed among the champions of the past 69 seasons, and teams will earn 10.4 million lira for each championship.

Accordingly, the earnings of the teams in the "Champions Share," which will be distributed for the last time this season, and their equivalents in the current exchange rate are as follows:

Galatasaray - 260 million lira (5.1 million euros)

Fenerbahçe - 197.6 million lira (3.8 million euros)

Beşiktaş - 166.4 million lira (3.2 million euros)

Trabzonspor - 72.8 million lira (1.4 million euros)

Bursaspor - 10.4 million lira (202 thousand euros)

Başakşehir - 10.4 million lira (202 thousand euros)

ANATOLIAN CLUBS WILL EARN AT LEAST 40 MILLION LIRA MORE

The broadcasting fee for the Super League will also be 180 million dollars in the next season according to the tender in 2024. In contrast, the amount paid in Turkish lira will increase with inflation adjustments. Additionally, any potential fluctuations in the exchange rate will positively affect this amount.

Thus, the 718 million lira "Champions Share" paid/ to be paid this season will rise slightly, and this share will be distributed among 18 teams in the new season. In this case, each team will earn a minimum of 40 million lira, and Anatolian clubs will gain additional income.
