The legendary name of Fenerbahçe and the Turkish National Football Team, Oğuz Çetin, was hospitalized in intensive care due to a clot in his brain vessels after falling ill at home.

61-year-old Oğuz Çetin was admitted to the intensive care unit at Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital due to a health problem he experienced. Çetin, who is conscious, is currently undergoing treatment.

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) also published a get well soon message for Oğuz Çetin, who served as the TFF Football Development Director for many years.

In a statement made by the TFF, the following expressions were used:

"We have learned with great sadness that Oğuz Çetin, a former player and coach of our National Team, who served as the TFF Football Development Director for many years, has been admitted to intensive care due to a health problem. WHO IS OĞUZ ÇETİN?

Oğuz Çetin is a former football player and coach from the Sakarya school of Turkish football.

He was born on February 15, 1963, in Sakarya. He started football in the youth team of Sakaryaspor and was promoted to the A team in 1981.

After transferring to Fenerbahçe, he wore the yellow-blue jersey for 9 seasons. Oğuz Çetin experienced Super League championship with Fenerbahçe in the 1988-89 season.

He played for İstanbulspor in 1996, then for Adanaspor and Ankaragücü, before retiring from football in 1999.

He is one of the players who captained Fenerbahçe for the longest time. Oğuz Çetin wore the national jersey for a long time in the National Team.

After retiring from football, he served as an assistant coach for the Turkish National Team under Şenol Güneş and Ersun Yanal. He also coached Gençlerbirliği and Boluspor.

He coached the Kuwait National Team and served as the head coach of Sakaryaspor in 2020.
