Galatasaray Head Coach Okan Buruk will have a video call with Can Uzun to explain his plans and thoughts about him, essentially trying to convince the national star.
Galatasaray has turned its attention to Germany as part of its new season transfer efforts. Among the names that the yellow-red team's technical director, Okan Buruk, most wants to see in his squad is national player Can Uzun, who plays for Eintracht Frankfurt.
THE NATIONAL TEAM'S ELIMINATION ACCELERATED THE PROCESS
Dursun Özbek and his aides had made initial contacts with Eintracht Frankfurt, but decided to wait for the World Cup process to be completed to make a move so as not to negatively affect the young player's motivation. However, with the early elimination of the National Team from the tournament, the yellow-reds pressed the button for the operation.
OKAN BURUK'S CALL
Technical director Okan Buruk, personally taking responsibility for the transfer, will hold a private meeting via video call with Can Uzun. In this meeting, the successful coach will explain to the young star the future plans at Galatasaray and the role he will assign him on the field, trying to convince him to wear the yellow-red jersey.
THE 60 MILLION EURO OBSTACLE
If a positive response is received from the national player, Galatasaray's management will sit down for negotiations with the German club. While the German representative has not backed down from the 60 million Euro release clause in Can Uzun's contract, it was reported that the yellow-red management is seeking formulas to bring this figure down to reasonable levels.
SEASON PERFORMANCE
Last season, Can Uzun played in a total of 28 official matches for Eintracht Frankfurt, delivering a performance of 10 goals and 6 assists.
