Muhammed Furkan Özbek, who had been preparing for the university entrance exam (YKS) for months in Adıyaman's Kahta district, got trapped in an elevator right after leaving home on the morning of the exam. As the exam time approached, the young man panicked, and fire crews came to his rescue. The teams, racing against time, quickly extracted him from the locked elevator and placed him in a fire truck. With sirens blaring, the fire department managed to get the young candidate to the exam hall just 7 minutes before the doors closed.
Muhammed Furkan Özbek, who left home to take the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) in the Kahta district of Adıyaman but got stuck in the elevator, was rescued by firefighting teams in a race against time and brought to the exam with just 7 minutes to spare.
STUCK IN THE ELEVATOR
The incident occurred in the morning hours in Girne Neighborhood, Kahta district. Özbek, who left home excited to make it to the exam, got trapped inside due to a malfunction in the apartment building's elevator. Upon notification from nearby residents, Kahta Municipality firefighting teams were quickly dispatched to the address.
RACE AGAINST TIME: ARRIVED AT SCHOOL WITH 7 MINUTES TO SPARE
Upon reaching the scene, firefighters carefully rescued Muhammed Furkan Özbek from the elevator safe and sound. With the exam time approaching and it being impossible for the candidate to make it on foot, the teams put the young man in the fire truck. Setting off with sirens blaring, the fire truck managed to deliver Özbek to the school where he would take the exam just 7 minutes before the doors closed. The young man, who was overjoyed and thanked the teams, entered the exam hall at the last moment.
