In Izmir, Ahmet Balcı set an ambush in front of the house where his estranged wife had taken refuge on the day the divorce case was to be decided. Seizing the opportunity when his daughter left the house, the man entered and stabbed both his wife and daughter.
Ummahan Balcı (46), a mother of 7 who works as a service staff at Aliağa Municipality in İzmir, filed for divorce from her husband Ahmet Balcı (50), a white goods seller, 5 years ago due to severe incompatibility and domestic violence. Ahmet Balcı, who had multiple restraining orders against him for threatening his wife with death, ambushed Ummahan Balcı in front of her aunt's house, where she had taken refuge, around 08:00 before the final hearing of the divorce case.
HE ATTACKED HIS WIFE AND DAUGHTER WITH A KNIFE
According to the allegations, when his daughter Betül Balcı was about to leave the house, Ahmet Balcı attempted to enter. Ahmet Balcı first injured his daughter with a knife in her left leg as she tried to stop him. Then, entering the house, Ahmet Balcı attacked his wife Ummahan Balcı, who had a protection order against him, with a knife. Ummahan Balcı was injured in the head, left arm, and chest. After the attack, Ahmet Balcı fled the scene.
THEIR HEALTH CONDITIONS ARE GOOD
Health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. The injured mother and daughter were taken to Aliağa State Hospital by ambulances after the first intervention. It was reported that the health conditions of the mother and daughter, who were placed under treatment, are good.
THE ATTACKER HUSBAND WAS ARRESTED
Ahmet Balcı, who was captured by the gendarmerie, was referred to the courthouse after his procedures at the Aliağa District Gendarmerie Command. Balcı was arrested by the court he was brought before and sent to prison.
