The Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, followed the General Assembly with the President of the Cambodian Senate, Samdech Techo Hun Sen. The Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, greeted Hun Sen in Khmer with "Welcome," which led to laughter. Hun Sen responded to those moments with applause.
TBMM President Numan Kurtulmuş met with the President of the Cambodian Senate, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, who is on an official visit to Turkey, at the Parliament. After visiting the General Assembly Hall and greeting the members of parliament, Kurtulmuş and Hun Sen followed the General Assembly proceedings for a while.
After Kurtulmuş and Hun Sen entered the hall, interesting moments occurred. TBMM Deputy Speaker Sırrı Süreyya Önder welcomed Hun Sen and Kurtulmuş by saying, "Dear friends, the President of the Cambodian Senate, Hun Sen, and the President of the TBMM, Numan Kurtulmuş, have honored our General Assembly. I welcome them on behalf of our Parliament."
WELCOME TO HUN SEN IN HIS OWN LANGUAGE
Sırrı Süreyya Önder also made a gesture to Hun Sen and his delegation. Speaking in Khmer, Deputy Speaker Önder said "Welcome" to the President of the Cambodian Senate in his own language. After the moments that caused laughter, Önder stated, "Let it not be an unknown language, I said 'Welcome' on behalf of all of you in the Khmer language."
