A project that closely concerns drivers who will use the D-100 Highway in Istanbul is starting. Due to the expansion joint replacement to be carried out on the Küçükçekmece Viaduct, the Edirne direction will be closed to traffic every night between 23:00 and 06:00 for 12 days. During these hours, vehicles will be directed to the northern side road.
A critical infrastructure project is starting on the Küçükçekmece Viaduct, located on the D-100 Highway in Küçükçekmece, Istanbul. Due to the joint replacement to be carried out in the Edirne direction of the viaduct, there will be a temporary change in the transportation arrangement in the area.
STATEMENT FROM THE TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT CENTER: WORK WILL LAST 12 DAYS
According to the announcement made by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Management Center, the technical renewal and joint replacement work on the viaduct is planned to be completed within 12 days. In order to prevent drivers from experiencing inconvenience, traffic flow on the main route will be directed in a controlled manner.
AT NIGHT, TRAFFIC WILL BE DIVERTED TO THE NORTH SIDE ROAD
Within the scope of the plan, the Edirne direction of the D-100 Highway will be closed to traffic between 23:00 and 06:00 during the work period. During these hours, vehicle traffic will be gradually diverted to the north side road, and transportation will continue entirely via this alternative route.
A SIMILAR PROJECT HAD CAUSED CONGESTION ON TEM
A similar infrastructure effort in the city was carried out last September on the TEM Molla Gürani Viaduct. That work, conducted between the Çamlık and Kavacık junctions between 22:00 and 06:00 at night and coinciding with the period when schools opened, caused long vehicle queues on the city's main arteries and alternative routes.
