Search and rescue operations continue after two major earthquakes struck the country. TWO MAJOR EARTHQUAKES IN VENEZUELA
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that two earthquakes, magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5, occurred 39 seconds apart in Venezuela on June 24.
The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) stated in its announcement on June 26 that the direct physical damage caused by the earthquakes was estimated at $6.7 billion.
It was reported that as of June 27, the number of people reported missing by relatives after the earthquakes exceeded 68,000, while the death toll rose to 2,295.
