In the Çınar district of Diyarbakır, concerning the murder of Arif Uğurlu and Ceylan Aktepe, who went missing in 2009, 1 of the 19 suspects was arrested for 'premeditated murder with honor motive,' and 18 people were released.

Two people who went missing 17 years ago in the Çınar district of Diyarbakır were allegedly killed, and 1 of the 19 suspects detained has been arrested.

THEY WENT MISSING 17 YEARS AGO

The investigation launched by the Çınar Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the disappearance of Arif Uğurlu and Ceylan Aktepe in 2009 in the Beneklitaş and İnanözü neighborhoods of the district continues. As part of the investigation, the Provincial Gendarmerie Command conducted efforts to resolve unsolved cases.

A special working group was formed under the coordination of the Çınar Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, involving teams from the Provincial Gendarmerie Command Public Order Branch Directorate, the Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Team (JASAT), the District Gendarmerie Command, and the Criminal, Cyber, and Intelligence Branch Directorates, and the case was comprehensively re-examined.

19 PEOPLE WERE CAUGHT

Based on HTS analyses, GSM and IMEI examinations, analysis studies, technical surveillance activities, field investigations, interviews, witness statements, testimonies taken before the prosecutor, and other obtained evidence, it was determined that the incident was committed jointly. In simultaneous operations centered in Diyarbakır and carried out in Mardin, Şırnak, and Sivas, 19 suspects were apprehended.

After the procedures at the gendarmerie, one of the suspects was arrested by the duty magistrates' court on charges of "premeditated murder with honor motive" while 18 others were released, including 9 under judicial control measures.
