Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 20 suspects belonging to three separate organized crime gangs were arrested in operations conducted in multiple provinces centered around Istanbul and in Norway. During the operation, 1 ton and 540 kilograms of drugs were seized, and assets worth approximately 1.5 billion lira were confiscated.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 20 suspects, including the leaders İ.A.Ç., A.P., and Y.K., who are wanted with a red notice, were captured in an operation conducted in Istanbul and 5 other provinces, as well as in Oslo, Norway, targeting 3 separate organized crime gangs.

3 SEPARATE CRIME ORGANIZATION OPERATIONS FROM THE POLICE

In a statement on his official social media account regarding the operation, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said: "Under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office; with the support of our General Directorate of Security's Narcotic Crimes Department, the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), the Istanbul Provincial Police Department's Narcotic Crimes Branch, and the police units of Sweden and Norway; we conducted joint operations targeting the crimes of 'Establishing an Organization for the Purpose of Committing Crimes, Importing Narcotic Substances, and Money Laundering of Assets Acquired from Crime' as a result of our efforts."

20 PEOPLE AND A LARGE AMOUNT OF NARCOTICS CAPTURED

In joint operations centered in Istanbul, Niğde, Mersin, Adana, Konya, and Muğla against 3 separate Organized Crime Organizations led by İ.A.Ç., Y.K., and A.P., 20 suspects were captured, including İ.A.Ç., who is wanted by Swedish judicial authorities with a red notice, and Y.K., who is wanted by Norwegian judicial authorities with a red notice. A total of 1 ton and 540 kilograms of narcotic substances belonging to 3 separate organized crime groups were seized through joint efforts abroad. Based on MASAK reports, 53 real estate properties, 27 vehicles, 15 companies, and company partnerships belonging to the suspects were identified, and assets worth approximately 1.5 billion lira were confiscated."

Minister Yerlikaya expressed his gratitude to the security forces involved in the operations, stating, "I thank the Swedish and Norwegian police units for their support in the operations. I congratulate our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, our provincial police departments, our heroic police officers, and our MASAK employees. For the peace and security of our nation, we are resolutely continuing our fight against organized crime groups and drug traffickers with our strong international cooperation," he added.
