"Operation against criminal organizations in Istanbul!"

In operations against criminal organizations in Istanbul, 85 suspects were apprehended. Of the arrested suspects, 69 were detained.

In Istanbul, a decision was made to arrest 69 of the 85 suspects detained in operations against criminal organizations.

The teams of the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Fighting Branch continue their efforts to uncover criminal organizations and capture suspects.

As part of the operations, the teams identified the identities and addresses of suspects involved in crimes such as workplace shootings, threats, robbery, intentional injury, unlicensed weapon production, and smuggling between July 15 and August 13.

85 PEOPLE ARRESTED

In operations conducted on different dates in Bağcılar, Kadıköy, Sarıyer, Şile, Sultangazi, Bahçelievler, Beylikdüzü, Ataşehir, Bakırköy, Beşiktaş, Fatih, Silivri, Avcılar, and Zeytinburnu, 85 suspects were arrested, who were found to be involved in 42 actions.

During searches at the addresses, 111 unlicensed handguns, a hand grenade, 751 bullets, 474 weapon mechanisms, 124 barrels, and 4,100 lira and 17,960 euros believed to be obtained from the crime were seized.

After their procedures at the police station, 69 of the suspects sent to the courthouse were arrested by the court, while 16 were released under judicial control measures.

Additionally, as part of the operations, 14 suspects involved in 6 different workplace shooting incidents and 2 suspects identified as engaged in arms trafficking were also detained.

"WE WILL NEVER TOLERATE"

Istanbul Police Chief Selami Yıldız congratulated the personnel who provided information at the campus on Vatan Avenue, where the seized weapons were displayed.

Speaking to journalists about the operations and the seized weapons, Yıldız emphasized that there would be no step back in the fight against crime and criminals.

Yıldız stressed that there would be no concessions, stating, "As the Istanbul Police Department, we continue our struggle against crime and criminals with determination. I have stated before, we will never allow city bandits and motorcycle crime gangs. They will inevitably face the steel fist of our state within its velvet glove. Indeed, our efforts continue 24/7 for the peace and security of the people of Istanbul."
