An operation was conducted at a venue in Çankaya called "LGBT bar sixtiees," considered to be a "gay" bar establishment, by order of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Seven suspects detained in the investigation were referred to the criminal court of peace with a request for arrest.
In a statement issued by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was reported that an investigation was launched following notifications made through CİMER, statements from informants, open-source research, and examination of images shared by the establishment on its social media platform, which revealed that sexually oriented entertainment events were organized and obscene and immoral acts were carried out.
7 SUSPECTS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
The statement noted: "Under the coordination of our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, within the scope of operations conducted by the Ankara Provincial Police Department Public Order Branch Moral Bureau teams, search and seizure procedures were carried out at the aforementioned establishment on July 25, 2026. As a result of these operations, a total of 7 suspects, including the establishment owner, responsible manager, and employees, were taken into custody.
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the detained suspects were referred to the duty criminal judgeship of peace on July 27, 2026, with a request for their arrest on charges regulated under Articles 226/2 and 227/2 of the Turkish Penal Code. The investigation is being meticulously carried out by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office."
