In an operation conducted across 6 cities centered in Istanbul, 19 pharmacists were detained on allegations that they stocked cancer, organ transplant, ALS, diabetes, and hypertension medications obtained through fake prescriptions and illegally sold them abroad. It was determined that the suspects sent the medications overseas via couriers and cargo companies.

THEY STOCKED CHRONIC DISEASE MEDICATIONS
Within the scope of the investigation coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Financial Crimes Branch Directorate monitored certain individuals operating in the pharmaceutical sector.
Investigations revealed that the suspects obtained high-cost medications from pharmaceutical warehouses and drug companies using fake prescriptions. The stocked medications were determined to consist of products used in the treatment of cancer, organ transplants, ALS, diabetes, hypertension, and similar chronic diseases.
THEY SENT MEDICATIONS ABROAD
It emerged that the suspects shipped the obtained medications via couriers, using their pharmacist identities and authorities to illegally send them abroad through airports and various cargo companies.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION IN 6 PROVINCES
Following technical and physical surveillance, simultaneous operations were conducted in Istanbul, Ankara, Kahramanmaraş, Diyarbakır, Hakkari, and Şırnak against the suspects whose identities and addresses were determined.
19 suspects were detained in the operation, and they were taken to the Istanbul Financial Crimes Branch Directorate for statements.
INVESTIGATION CONTINUES
It was learned that judicial proceedings against the detained suspects are ongoing.
