Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that in operations targeting organized crime groups in Istanbul, 26 individuals were apprehended, including the leader of the organization, and 21 of them were arrested. Additionally, assets worth 16.2 million dollars were seized.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that an important success has been achieved in the extensive operations against organized crime groups in Istanbul. Yerlikaya stated that 26 people were arrested in the raids conducted by the gendarmerie against the crime organization led by Ü.E., and that 21 of them were detained.
ASSETS SEIZED
In Minister Yerlikaya's statement, it was noted that based on the data from the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), two hotels, movable properties, and cash amounting to 16.2 million dollars belonging to the suspects were seized.
MURDER AND ARMED ATTACK ALLEGATIONS
It was determined that members of the organization carried out armed attacks on many businesses, were involved in a murder case in Istanbul, and forcibly took over some workplaces. It was reported that operations against the suspects were carried out simultaneously at 24 different addresses.
SEIZED ITEMS AND ALLEGATIONS
In the operations, 10 unlicensed pistols, 1 ballistic vest, and a large number of cutting and stabbing tools were seized. An investigation was initiated against the detained suspects for the crimes of "Establishing an Organization for the Purpose of Committing Crimes," "Intentional Homicide," "Threat with a Weapon," "Intentional Injury with a Weapon," "Qualified Robbery," and "Violation of Law No. 6136."
YERLİKAYA'S MESSAGE OF "DETERMINATION"
Minister Yerlikaya congratulated the Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the Gendarmerie KOM Department, and the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command, stating, "Our determined struggle against organized crime groups will continue."
