In the investigation of a 23 million lira fraud case, Meral Kaplan, who was taken into custody, stated, "I did not defraud anyone. I was only consulted about information regarding someone I know, I shared what I knew and returned home." However, the images of her being handcuffed in reverse went viral. While being brought to the courthouse, Kaplan could not hold back her tears, and she was released by the court under judicial control conditions.
E.Y., who filed a complaint with the Fraud Bureau, stated that he made a total payment of 23 million lira at different times for the sale of a plot of land in Arnavutköy to S.Ö. (51), who introduced himself as a manager of a foundation. However, after some time passed and the sale did not take place, the victim realized he had been defrauded and filed a complaint against S.Ö. and the individuals acting with him.
5 PEOPLE DETAINED
In the investigation initiated by the Fraud Bureau, the police detained a total of 5 people, including S.Ö., who acted together with him. The suspects detained were S.Ö., D.Ö. (28), A.Ş. (38), N.T. (45), and M.D. (26). Along with the suspects, 2 unlicensed pistols and a large number of bullets were seized.
PART OF THE MONEY WAS TRANSFERRED TO A ACCOUNT BELONGING TO KAPLAN
It was determined that the suspects, who were interrogated at the Public Order Branch, had previous criminal records. In their investigation, the police found that part of the 23 million lira deposited by the victim for the so-called sale was transferred to an account belonging to actress Meral Kaplan. Kaplan was detained by the police. In her statement to the police, she denied the allegations and claimed that the money was sent to her account by a friend, and she was referred to the courthouse after the procedures.
3 PEOPLE ARRESTED, KAPLAN RELEASED
Among the suspects referred to the courthouse, S.Ö., D.Ö., and A.Ş. were arrested and sent to prison. The other suspects, including Meral Kaplan, were released under judicial control.

Meral Kaplan, who was seen being detained with handcuffs on the wrong way and broke down in tears while being taken to the courthouse, responded to the allegations within the scope of the investigation initiated over the claim of a 23 million lira fraud through the sale of a plot of land in Arnavutköy. Kaplan stated, "I have never worked in real estate in my life. I do not understand title deeds, land, or plots. I did not defraud anyone; on the contrary, I have always been defrauded. I read the baseless news about me with astonishment at home, despite it being written as 'detained.' I was only consulted about a person I know, I shared what I knew, and I returned home," she expressed. Kaplan also added, "My lawyer Şeyda Yıldırım is dealing with the matter. As a mother, I ask you to show sensitivity. This is all I have to say about this issue," expressing her reaction.
